who we are
who we are
The church was founded on the dynamics encapsulated in Acts 2:42-47. We remain committed to being a church that reflects those early church values, a community where the Holy Spirit is very evident. The following statements reflect our values and are found as themes throughout scripture.
Knowing God and Experiencing life in Him by…
Real Life Change. [Acts 2:43, James 1:22-25; Isaiah 55:11; Romans 12:2]Experiencing Christianity as a meaningful and vital relationship built on grace, that transforms us from the inside out – not lessons to be memorized and rules to be obeyed.
An Objective Foundation. [Acts 2:42-43; Psalm 119:9-16; 2 Timothy 3:16-17]We are excited that God speaks to us personally and directly through the Bible.
Engaging Worship Experiences. [Acts 2:47; Romans 12:1; Hebrews 4:16] Worship that is creative, culturally relevant and doctrinally pure, engaging the heart and enticing people to draw life from the living presence of Jesus.
Sharing life through authentic connecting relationships by…
Meaningful Conversation. (Acts 2:42; James 5:13-18)
Yes, with one another, a truly curious community. But even more importantly, with God. Real conversation. Honest communication. The kind of prayer that moves us toward knowing God, feeling His presence and enjoying His company. The kind of prayer that connects our hearts to His so we can recognize His voice.
Authenticity. (Acts 2:45, 2 Corinthians 8 & 9)
God flowing through all areas of our lives. Blurring the lines between work, school, family and Church. Authenticity is also at the heart of stewardship.
Sharing Life Together. (Acts 2:44-46; John 13:34-35; 1 Corinthians 13] Locking arms in authentic, loving relationships characterized by encouragement, support, accountability and spiritual partnership
Joining God in His Mission by…
Serving Together. [Acts 2:44-45] Working as a united community of servants, each of us discovering and using our God-given gifts and talents
Living with Purpose. [Acts 2:47; Matthew 28:18-20; Matt. 9:9-12] Engaging the community and the world by getting involved with needs outside our walls. Not just consuming church as a religious good or service buy actually being the church to the world around us.
Pursuing Excellence.[Col 3.17] We pursue excellence in everything we do because it honors God and inspires people. We focus not on high performance, but on doing the best we can with what we have.
Our Values
Jesus spoke many powerful, transformational statements at the top are two commonly called the Great Commandment and also the Great Commission. These two scriptures summarize the vision and mission of CCC.
Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Matt 22:37-40
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matt 28:18-20
